Celebrating Ferragosto at Ci Siamo

Last month, we gathered friends and guests around the long table at Ci Siamo to celebrate Ferragosto, one of Italy’s most cherished summer holidays. Traditionally observed on August 15, Ferragosto marks the height of the season—a time to pause, gather with loved ones, and enjoy the simple pleasures of food, wine, and community.

On our third-floor terrazza, with sweeping views of the Empire State Building, Chef Hillary Sterling prepared a menu that captured the essence of peak summer: Sungold tomatoes, crisp farinata, tortellini with basil pesto, corn butter, and melon granita. Each dish was designed to showcase the vibrant flavors of the season, meant to be enjoyed family-style and al fresco—just as Ferragosto has been celebrated for centuries in Italy.

This festive evening was about more than just food. Thanks to our generous guests, all proceeds supported No Kid Hungry, a nonprofit dedicated to ending childhood hunger across the United States. It was a night of warmth, connection, and shared purpose—proving that gathering around the table can be both joyful and impactful.

We’re deeply grateful to everyone who joined us in making this Ferragosto dinner so memorable. Until next year—saluti!
