Morgan Wiley Howland is Senior Vice President of Technology & Innovation at Union Square Hospitality Group (USHG), where she leads the company's technology, digital innovation, and AI transformation efforts. She shapes USHG's innovation agenda to advance its mission of Enlightened Hospitality, while also overseeing the secure, reliable technology that supports the company's restaurants and teams.
Since joining USHG in 2021, Morgan has led digital strategy and execution across a range of guest- and employee-focused experiences, including: digital ordering, app development, loyalty programming, reservations, training, and more.
Morgan believes the greatest value of technology lies in empowering people to do what they do best. Her approach centers on creating more space for USHG's teams to deliver exceptional hospitality, create memorable culinary experiences, and coach and support one another. This includes developing purpose-built products, connecting platforms to create a frictionless ecosystem, and driving meaningful AI adoption across the organization.
Prior to USHG, Morgan worked in product marketing at Thanx, a restaurant technology company focused on guest loyalty and engagement. She began her career as a management consultant with Deloitte, where, in addition to advising Fortune 100 companies on strategy and transformation, she served as a Global Innovation Fellow. Her passion for food and hospitality also led her to train at the Culinary Institute of America and work as a pastry cook at SingleThread, the three-Michelin-starred restaurant in Healdsburg, California.
Morgan holds an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business and a BA from Duke University. She lives in SoHo with her husband, Brenton, their daughter, Taylor, and their Bernedoodle, Remy.
